Timeless Jazz - Jazz Titles With Hidden Meanings February 6, 2022 @ wutc.org

I've been wanting to do a show on jazz works with hidden meanings but kept thinking it was going to be a lot of work. I am heading into the studio tomorrow to record it for February 6. The show will definitely include Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Jaki Byard, Fats Waller, Charles Mingus and others. Some of the references may be obvious, though not to younger or newer jazz fans, while others may be a bit more obtuse. A few can't be explained in detail on the air, for obvious reasons.

Anyone know the meaning behind Bruce Barth's "Song For Nefer"?

At least two song titles will be explained by artists, though in one case, it won't be the composer, though you'll hear the composer's recording of the song.
