Louis Armstrong-Ambassador label

I had seen this cd sitting on the used cd shelf at Tower for awhile, $7.99. At the Atlanta store at least, all orange stickered used cds are half off! So grabbed it, pretty good, some rare tracks (5 minute version of On the Sunny Side of the Street from a broadcast Transcription) Anyway, decent sound, from this "non-profit label dedicated to Louis Armstrong and his music" But, why did they start in 1935???? Any Guesses? Decca stuff not in print in 1989? I also thought the label must have been long out of print, since I don't recall seeing the cds in stores, but the other volumes are listed still at B&N for sale, even though many are "out of stock"
