Is that Billy Larkin out on Fresh Sound? That's one I'd like to upgrade - superb album!

MG

PS - but it has the sleeve for "Pygmy" - is it a twofer?

Ah - just found it on Amazon.uk cheapish. Has all the tracks from "Pygmy" and "Blue lights", but in mixed up order (oh I hate it when they do that!). Still, I've ordered it :) Thanks for the heads up NS!

No problem! I'm nearly finished spinning it, it sounds good. These 2 sessions sound better to me then 'Hold On!' Which i have on LP (in mono, i believe, wish i had a stereo copy!)

These are the best two - but there's good stuff throughout his discography - not a lot on his last album, though.

Hardware wise , just bought a Marantz 5 cd changer for 99 $ + shipping.

Also, have my eyes on a combo with a NAD cd player and amplifier with Totem speakers, will decide next week if i take the plunge.

Made the plunge bought this hardware

NAD integrated amps are very good IMHO. I have a C 320BEE and works perfectly with my set-up.

An excellent soul jazz two-fer containing "The Soul Brotherhood" and "Reelin' With The Feelin'". As of this writing, this one's fairly expensive all over the internet but there's one currently on auction on Ebay and the bidding's less than $5.00 right now. Grab one if you find one at a price you like, it's a wonderful set!

The Jazz Brothers have been on my wish list for quite a while so I finally sprung for it. A nice taste of Chuck Mangione (on the far left) when he still played jazz and also a nice taste of Sal Nistico on both CDs.

New to me as a leader. I've been in a trumpet-y mood lately.

Hardware upgrade

Replaced my old MM cartridge ( Rega Elys) with a MC Denon DL103R, DNM mains cable and Incognito RB300 rewire for my vanilla Rega P3. The difference is massive. I thought my TT sounded good before but now it's so much better....

New cactus needle. Copper speaker wire and I placed my speaker on a milk crate. Sounds dandy.
