I purchased Disc 1 on eBay a few years ago and managed to win an auction for Discs 2-5 with the box and book today for about $43 after tax and shipping.  I've been on a Pass kick lately and really like Disc 1, so I'm happy to be completing the set.

I stopped by a used store and found some bargains:

Wayne Shorter - EtceteraPhantom Navigator and Joy Ryder.

Bennie Wallace - Bordertown

Bill Charlap - Somewhere: The Music of Leonard Bernstein

Joe Pass/NHØP - Chops

I also bought a Louis Jordan CD that I promptly damaged beyond repair by knocking over my CD drive while I was ripping the disc.  All told, with a birthday discount, I paid about $13.

Recent vinyl purchases:

R-2508231-1287851231.jpeg.jpg

Terumasa Hino Sextet - Fuji (Catalyst, licensed from Victor Japan, 1972)
Hoping this is as good as Taro's Mood (Enja, 1973). Both LPs feature the same excellent rhythm section: Mikio Masuda, Yoshio Ikeda, & Motohiko Hino.

R-1045460-1290172220.jpeg.jpg

Rusty Bryant - For the Good Times (Prestige, 1973)
Funny that we were discussing Bryant elsewhere on the forum earlier this week, and then I stumbled across this LP today in Wax & Facts. ... I have the four records that preceded this one; they're compiled on Bryant's two Legends of Acid Jazz CDs. But I've not heard For the Good Times. I'm guessing it's as much funk as jazz.

Irakere - 2 (Columbia)
Irakere's final record for Columbia before changing political tides put an end to that relationship.

This arrived today. Had been looking for the Japan mini lp replica sleeve version for ages.  Yes I know about the upcoming Mosaic box, but it's one of my absolute favourite albums of all time.

Deer Wan is probably my single favorite Kenny Wheeler record. But previously I only owned the LP.  It'll be nice to be able to listen to it at work, in the car, etc. going forward. 🙂

I also have the Griff/Jaws 1975 stuff. Nice stuff, maybe Jaws is a bit too off the mike, and your beloved Mr. Montoliu , and I also was really Looking Forward hearing him in this surroundigs, is not so well recorded. But what can be heard is that on that last mega Long track "Funky Flutes" he really stretches out, fantastic ! And not to Forget Art Taylor, one of my favourite Drummers.

Love that Abrams set.  One of his very best and needs CD reissue.
