Death of a Sideman, David Murray Quartet:

Bentsy, you know this album is a tribute to one pf your favorite players - John Carter?

I know, and for this reason I wanted it.

It's a nice one. More a Bobby Bradford album than A David Murray, I think. Brandford should have been billed as the leaser of this session.

Charlie Hunter and Bobby Previte as Groundtruther, "Latitude" (they're, uh, interesting underformed improvs, not the usual Charlie)

Thievery Corporation's "Richest Man in Babylon Rewound" (continuing my recent dub fascination)

Well, yesterday I also got a couple of CD-R with live recordings of Johnny Griffin small ensembles from our friend from Switzerland. One of them features Tete Montoliu on piano. Yes, I know, I am sick!!!  :crazy:

Aren't we all? :crazy::crazy::crazy:

Also: who's that friend in Switzerland? I always thought I was the only jazz fan here! :angry:

Received today (but paid earlier): Jack Teagarden: Jazz Great (Bethlehem/Avenue/Rhino)

My first Dusty Groove order arrived today-

Jackie McLean: The Meeting, vol. 1

Pete Christlieb/Warne Marsh: Apogee

Thad Jones/Mel Lewis: Presenting...

Thad Jones/Mel Lewis: Live at the Village Vanguard

I took a chance and ordered the last even though it was only graded at VG, something I would NEVER do on eBay. It plays perfectly! This is not a good sign for future budgeting... :(
