Anyone notice anything odd about this picture of Wardell?
Other than the fact that he is wearing an amazingly life-like Dexter Gordon mask?
...doesn't look at all like Wardell!

I like AllMusic, but I did get a chuckle from this close-but-not-quite photo.
Frankly, not that many pictures of WG around, so perhaps it doesn't surprise me that much.

there are still tons of wrong photos on AMG, it was worse when they re-launched the site than it is now. It seems people are working on this.

Well, I did hear they were close
The same photo is used for Gray on one of the Jazz Factory cds . . . Not sure whether that was the horse and allmusic the cart, or vice versa.

For 7 friggin' years I have sent corrections about MY ENTRY and a big bunch of artists I have worked with and recorded. In spite of the assurances from 4 or 5 people, nothing has happened. Seems like a thousand errors from the '80s and '90s will live forever.
Relax...that picture is simply part of the new All-Music "true or false" game. You are supposed to guess--the entire database is based on that premise.
