I've wanted to do a program on EC myself, but Stevebop has beaten me to it with what will be, I'm sure, a thoroughly prepared and enjoyable program about Mr. Costa:

This Friday night at 7.

Dear Ghost..
Thanks for noticing my Eddie Costa Special coming up. A few words of warning. We are in the middle of a Pledge Drive so Costa won't get on until 11pm and only for an hour, until midnight. But it will be a solid hour uninterrupted by fund raising. Tune in if you can

Steve,
I'll still try to catch it... I'm usually up at that hour (10 in Indiana). Any chance to hear more Eddie Costa is worth it! Are you going to be playing any of the material with Farlow from the new Mosaic? Three straight CDs on that set including Costa--a real treat for fans.

Ghost: I do not have the Mosaic set but I do have the Feurst and Second Sets on CD. Great extended improvisations by Tal and Eddie. Similar to the Verve studio dates but really stretching out on long takes. Do you know this material? Also have a nice copy of "House of Blue Lights" and a few out of print things. email me if you are listening: steve_schwartz@wgbh.org

Steve, I haven't heard that Xanadu material but look forward to encountering it. HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHTS is fantastic, perhaps my favorite Costa record. I'll try to tune in later tonight.

Will you be plaing a cut from that Raymond Scott Secret 7 disc? There's a (brief) moment or two on that one where Costa sounds like Walt Dickerson!

Too bad I don't still live in Brookline, MA.
