They played together in 1964. Did this ever get released on record?

According to my sources, it was recorded in November of 1963, in NYC. Yes, it's been out... I have it on a VGM CD (LIVE AT JORGIE'S) as bonus material.

Wow, can't say I've ever seen it in NYC or SF. News to me. Since I have so many Wes CDs, I tend to take a cavalier attitude when I see those long bins of Wes CDs.
Maybe there's something new in there I aint got????

Oh the bands and folks Wes could have played with. Guess we'll have to "settle" for Wynton Kelly and Jimmy Smith, yuks.

Has anyone ever seen or heard the recordings of Wes and Coltrane? They did some concerts together in Califonia (I think) and long before CDs I remember hearing about some bootleg tapes. The story goes that Trane asked Wes to be a permanant member of his band but Wes declined.

There was a thread about Wes 'n' Trane here.
So far nothing has surfaced, and it is more than doubtful there ever will.

Sorry, can't find it - must have been on the occasion of some other Wes item being discussed.

This topic also came up in a thread discussing a trading website ("sharingthegroove.com").

Although I recall visiting the site and seeing it listed, I STILL have not heard from any reliable source that it actually exists...

Thanks, Mike and Jim. I tried to go to sharingthegroove but it doesn't seem to exist anymore.
