March 6, 2007:
It is with great sadness that we mourn the untimely passing of a true friend of the art community here in Lansing, Mr. Robert Busby. Robert was the owner of The Creole Gallery, probably the only hip, true listening room in Lansing for jazz, folk, and world music as well as live poetry, theatre, and of course a beautiful gallery space for visual art. We attended the moving memorial service today at Dart Auditorium on the campus of LCC. I think the entire greater Lansing art community came out. The entire auditorium was full, as well as at least two overflow rooms. We saw fellow musicians, painters, poets, writers, fans, friends, and family. An amazing event. Robert was truly loved. We in organissimo loved him as well.

RIP Robert Busby. May your vision live on in our hearts and deeds.

February 26, 2007:

January 7 , 2007: Waiting For The Boogaloo Sisters... is back in stock at CDBaby.com! The re-prints look great and we're happy to have our debut back in print.

December 8 , 2006: Many people have emailed us asking, "Is Waiting For The Boogaloo Sisters... out of print?" Well, yes... but it is coming back into print soon. We've had to change duplicators and the process of getting the old artwork around has taken longer than expected. But the disc is at the duplicators now and should be in our hands in a few weeks. Thank you for your patience and understanding! It will be available at CDBaby.com and is currently available on iTunes and other download sites.

December 1 , 2006: Don't forget, you can enjoy some free holiday music from organissimo just by clicking here! 'Tis the season!

October 19, 2006: Just put up a new video. It's from the 2006 Muskegon Summer Celebration back in July. You can see the new Hammond Suzuki XK System in it! Neat-o! It's in windows media format on this site, or you can watch it on YouTube. Check the media page for more.

October 16, 2006: Our East Coast tour was a fantastic success! We came home with only five copies of "Waiting For The Boogaloo Sisters..." left, completely selling out of "This Is The Place". We were met with much enthusiasm everywhere we played, including Washington DC, Virginia Beach, Baltimore, and of course Philadelphia. We all fell in love with Philadelphia and can't wait until our return in January for the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Art After 5 series!

October 12, 2006 - In a two-part review for JazzTimes.com of this year's Detroit International Jazz Festival, writer and critic Bill Milkowski briefly mentions our set. We are the only "local" band to be mentioned in the article. Not a bad feat.

Milkowski writes, "The local B3 trio Organissimo invigorated the organ trio tradition with a fresh takes on the genre on Saturday afternoon at the same stage. Their eclectic set ranged from classic shuffles to Latin-tinged grooves to an inventive take on Frank Zappa's Peaches En Regalia.

The full article can be read by clicking here. It is in two parts. Part two (which contains the above quote) can be found here.

August 9, 2006 - It would appear that CDBaby.com has worked out some sort of deal with Amazon.com to sell CDs. That's the only explanation we can think of as to why our first disc, "Waiting For The Boogaloo Sisters..." is now available on Amazon.com. It's a little pricey compared with buying direct from CDBaby, but if someone prefers Amazon, now they have that option. CDBaby has not made any announcement about this, but it seems like their entire catalogue is up on Amazon. This is great news, as it replaces the deal between CDBaby and Tower Records going the way of the dodo.

August 8, 2006 - A new video is up on Youtube.com! Filmed during the recording sessions for "This Is The Place", the video shows an alternate take of the song "Tenderly" that did not get used for the record. Hiding in the back corner you can even see our friend Bill Vits laying down some percussion!

And in case you missed it, there is also some live footage of the band playing at the Firefly Club in Ann Arbor on youtube as well. Both videos are also available on the media page.
