  3. Not familiar with him, will need to check it out, thanks!
  4. Speaking of northern soul, I loved EMusic's rereleases of the two Nolan Porter albums with gobs and gobs of bonus tracks. I see that his wife Candy Zappa wrote a bio in 2021.
  5. I have begun reading this timely-published book and find it excellent in many ways: accurate in its factual presentation (I know more than a bit about the subject matter) and entertaining as it educates and explains. s-l1600994×1500 90.5 KB
  6. Duke Ellington and his Orchestra "The Centennial Edition: Complete RCA Victor Recordings" disc 5 of 24 It's time for some Duke. 1930 to 1931 recordings on this disc. Sonically rich and great music.

I will consult my Stabilität dictionary when back home.
  10. Another gem from Resonance Records...
  11. Looks great. I also see an appealing-looking 1977 Tony Coe performance. Being out of space by a mile, I may go digital for these, but will listen one way or another.
  12. yes, the whole operation is in different hands now. Maybe that was a poor choice of words, but you get my drift.
  13. Long since. Completely different operation for all intents & purposes.
  14. Yes, I was going to ask - is the Cadence Building (if there really is such a building) now a pedophile-free zone?
  15. I've got quite a number of Cadence LPs and CDs (as well as CIMP discs). Pretty interesting and important label and distribution pathway (Cadence/North Country Distribution = Cadnor), not to mention the magazine. Too bad the founder turned out to be such a sicko. Live in Europe is great, and Melvin Smith, the guitarist, is cool. He has a solo guitar LP that is pretty neat (albeit perhaps for completists only). https://www.discogs.com/release/4853227-Abdul-Malik-Muhammad-Songs-For-Our-Children?srsltid=AfmBOopaEVHsk64bQx5ZKoi1zhnfWjHCmOodca_Y1C7LBLEcF227BG6h
  16. Forgot about YouTube - duh. I like the instrumental tracks. The vocal tracks are weird. The first sounds like a nod to Dylan, but the second is more a nod to Jim Pepper. The whole YouTube thing makes me wonder - do I still need to collect CDs? I have definitely been winding down as I approach retirement. Doing a lot more downloads. So I will skip this one but still looking at Live in Europe. Anything else on the Cadnor site worth picking up? You know my tastes
  17. Bandcamp Friday coming up. I'll pre-order this then and a few other things off my wishlist.
  18. Such a perfect record.
