  1. Past hour
  2. Many thanks for your remembrances of Guy, which are quite similar to mine! And also for the links.
  3. Great choice, really cool 👍 I actually don't know what my father liked to listen to, so I am happy you do.
  4. And now, I was thinking of my Dad and decided to hear something he would spin. My family rarely played any secular Xmas music when we were growing up, as a minister and a classical music lover he just didn’t want to hear that stuff. THIS was his Christmas go to . . . and I decided to listen to disc 1 of my cd copy this morning. Handel, Leonard Bernstein, The New York Philharmonic “Messiah” Sony Classical 2 cd set 400×400 29.5 KB
  5. It’s really cold out there. Should be above freezing tomorrow, which will help me with patches of ice on the deck and driveway. Starting off with Out Of/Into “Motion II” Blue Note cd So glad this new “supergroup” have released a second. And it’s very good! IMG500×301 13.6 KB Pianist Gerald Clayton, alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, vibraphonist Joel Ross, drummer Kendrick Scott, and bassist Matt Brewer

  8. Cat Anderson & the Lars Sjösten Trio - Things Ain't What They Used To Be (Vax Records) Fresh new material (at least to me), recorded in Stockholm in 1963, from the archives of Tor-Björn Lyrhed.
  9. International Phonograph CD

    Jackie McLean

I regret not knowing how to even be part of the secret society that has heard even the sessions that do "get around", such as the Train Wreck, and I guess the Wayne produced by Pearson. 🤔

    Jackie McLean

You have it??? This is not one that gets around! Cuscuna told me the tape was lost.
  12. Celebrate Christmas with “Jingle Bells Boogie” and ring in the New Year with “Auld Lang Syne Boogie”
  13. Yesterday
  14. Just thumbing through this thread - This one would really be great!

    Jackie McLean

So, in your opinion, did Norman Connors ruin the session, as Jackie believed he did?
  17. Betty Carter would be a GREAT choice, no matter how they put it together.
  18. I bought one out of a cutout bin and instead of an Elvin record it was a Nina Simone club date in pretty poor sound quality. Not what I was either looking or hoping for.
