  2. The BBC talks to James Marriott about the post-literate age or the death of reading... https://www.bbc.com/audio/play/w3ct71cy

    Joe Henderson

I will consult my Stabilität dictionary when back home.
  4. Another gem from Resonance Records...
  5. Looks great. I also see an appealing-looking 1977 Tony Coe performance. Being out of space by a mile, I may go digital for these, but will listen one way or another.

  7. yes, the whole operation is in different hands now. Maybe that was a poor choice of words, but you get my drift.
  8. Long since. Completely different operation for all intents & purposes.
  9. Yes, I was going to ask - is the Cadence Building (if there really is such a building) now a pedophile-free zone?
  10. I've got quite a number of Cadence LPs and CDs (as well as CIMP discs). Pretty interesting and important label and distribution pathway (Cadence/North Country Distribution = Cadnor), not to mention the magazine. Too bad the founder turned out to be such a sicko. Live in Europe is great, and Melvin Smith, the guitarist, is cool. He has a solo guitar LP that is pretty neat (albeit perhaps for completists only). https://www.discogs.com/release/4853227-Abdul-Malik-Muhammad-Songs-For-Our-Children?srsltid=AfmBOopaEVHsk64bQx5ZKoi1zhnfWjHCmOodca_Y1C7LBLEcF227BG6h
  11. Forgot about YouTube - duh. I like the instrumental tracks. The vocal tracks are weird. The first sounds like a nod to Dylan, but the second is more a nod to Jim Pepper. The whole YouTube thing makes me wonder - do I still need to collect CDs? I have definitely been winding down as I approach retirement. Doing a lot more downloads. So I will skip this one but still looking at Live in Europe. Anything else on the Cadnor site worth picking up? You know my tastes
  12. Bandcamp Friday coming up. I'll pre-order this then and a few other things off my wishlist.
  13. Such a perfect record.
  14. Yes it looks similar but the Contemporary label also changed a bit during the times. As far as I know Pell didnt record for Contemporary under his name.
  15. Revisiting disc 3 of this excellent new reissue of two Bill Evans albums and many alternates/outtakes. Bill Evans “Haunted Heart” Riverside/Craft 3 cd set, disc 3
  16. Remember I was catching up on work email after a long break (plus a gusher of requests from those emerging from their extended coma). Distraction always help lighten the burden. Like when I am dealing with work but have my tunes on in the background. I might have figured out "Little Sunflower" eventually ... I associate with Cedar because I think he played it quite a bit. A tad ashamed not to recognize or have any inkling of Houston Person on there.
  17. A little snow last night. Looks like it may be one of THOSE winters. I’ll layer up and put the shovel to use later. Starting a session with Wes Montgomery “The Complete Full House Recordings” Riverside/Craft 2 cd set, disc 2 I’ve always loved these recordings, and this was a welcome re-issue offering alternate material in great sound. 300×263 11.8 KB
