Apparently (I haven't gone through the list) 361 box sets on sale at ImportCDs. Multiple genres. Quick ook shows lots of Bird and Trane. Bill Evans. No much out of the mainstream.

Complete Wes on Riverside for $125. Not sure if that's good price, but nice set.

Two days ago I noticed that Amazon had raised the shipping fee for its Marketplace Sellers to $3.99 for DVD box sets, and yesterday I noticed that that is also true for CD box sets.

Yes, had to pass on a couple of singles. Shipping cost just too high. Will look for them locally.

It wasn't too long ago. It was still $2.98 on my Amazon order placed April 9th. I think the new rates are too high. It's going to affect my buying patterns there.

Still $2.99 at half.com, so I've started also looking there, though generally find amazon to be the better deal, even with the extra shipping cost. But it is definitely slowing me down some on purchases of single titles, especially low-end ones.

That's a shame, especially since you can ship a single CD for less than $2.

I discovered the shipping increase because all of the sudden I had a bunch of prices on used discs met via the price setting site camelcamelcamel. So it appears as if some sellers are making adjustments so perhaps as more adjust it won't be a full $1 increase for the consumer as some sellers will decide to eat part of it. That said I now have to readjust the prices set for marketplace vendors.

I was late to notice the increases because I am a "prime" member.

Make up your mind. I'm a prime member too but this is about marketplace vendor shipping prices which effect all Amazon castes.

Not sure it's a "bargain" and it fits with the DVD box thread, but the Rome blu-ray is $43ish at Amazon and I bit, inspired by watching "I, Claudius" for the 5th time around. I don't want to leave togaland and it was that or watch Animal House for the 20th time.

the regular Amazon shipping prices mirror the "marketplace". That was my point

Before I had Prime I always played the game of ordering $25 worth of stuff so I forgot that regular Amazon even charged for shipping. Duh, of course they do, my bad. Sorry 'bout that.

Barnes & Nobel JAZZ cd’s 40% off retail price.

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s?store=Music&PRO=649

So I open this link ,and in the first two rows (12 CD's) they show CD's by Boney James, Molly Ringwald, Madeleine Peyroux, Jane Monheit, Harry Connick Jr., two different titles by The Rippingtons, and "Smooth Jazz Hits: For Lovers". Makes me not anxious to scroll through the other 10,718 titles...
