"Nu Brasil 2" 2 cd set, disc 1

A very nice compilation that was a gateway drug to several performers compiled here. Fun listen, nicely sequenced.

Zoot Sims "Gettin' Sentimental Over You" Candid cd

Zoot with Jimmy Rowles again. .  a fantastic combo. With Bob Cranshaw on bass and Mickey Roker on drums. I don't think there's a bad Zoot quartet album.

Really enjoying this CD. Maybe the best for this trio. Looking forward to the vinyl release for the live tracks. Rare for me to buy both CD and vinyl of same release, but justified!

All three thumbs up!

Having a lot of fun at the moment with last year's Of Things Beyond Thule, Vol. 2 by Joe McPhee, Dave Rempis, Tomeka Reid, Brandon Lopez and Paal Nilssen-Love.

Definitely a record that is as good as if not better than the sum of its parts. If you like any of those players, I'd recommend it.

This is Hard Bop at its best. With a big accent on bop.
