Currently on repeat listening of "Monterey '66" - spectacular live recording with lots of solo spaces - one of Randy's best lineups

Booker Ervin (!!) ....

Yep!! what a bonus, especially on the 25 minute version of African Cookbook

Another great BE performance that has been on replay at my place is the 27min track "Blues For You" on the Lamemt For Booker Ervin Enja LP/CD

What do people generally think of his so called "commercial" U/A release "Destry Rides again" - it was omitted from the Mosaic Select at Randy's request

Years ago, I found a pristine copy for a dollar.  I gave it a scrub on the ol' Nitty Gritty, played the LP once - and promptly sold it to Dusty Groove.  Once was enough for me.

Once is probably enough, two or three times over as many decades, sure. But "never" is not really a good option either. It's a record that happened, and it can't be unhappened.

I seem to recall hearing 4 tracks from Destry.  They were kind of fun, but this stuff is definitely a mere sidelight in Weston's career.

There were a few (four?)   on the Blue Note two-fer.

Thanks.  It looks some of these are out of print.

True, but used copies are not that hard to find. The Fresh Sound and Avid etc. reissues have several overlaps.
