honestly you guys, that board has opened a new-door-of-living for chewy: i never knew how important cds were, until i started reading over there. ALL THESE YEARS of focusing on lps screwed me up, THINK of all the good cds ive missed. Do you guys know I'm up to 11 Targets. or is it 12? targets are the holy grail of audio. Basically, take something, thats already totally cool, say, Phil Collins No Jacket Required. Now, immagine if there was a mastering so out of control good that it sounded like you were listening to headphones plugged into the master tape. that is what it is like. sometimes targets are not the best version. recently my target obesssion has led me to do dirty, dirty things. i admit here: i opened a cd case and looked into a LINDA RONDSTADT cd cause i thought it might be a target today. how the hell am i going to rationalize that beyond the target: waddy watchel was her guitar player. ok. jesus.
and its not all rock: i am desparately looking for the target of Grover Wasington Jr WINELIGHT, there is also a freddie hubbard one but thats going to be impossible to find. i have a george benson
Man!! This sounds like one of my rants. Careful where you tread brother....

LMAO....what an ass.
But....I'd love to see what the guys at Music Matters
could do with your catalog.
they'd do limited edition boxed sets of 45 rpms, of course.
With missing labels, scratched vinyl and $25 a disc for the privilege.
Utter and complete bullshit.

Any other slide film available?
The most amazing picture I ever saw was a 20x24? print from slide from top of Everest.
Totally unreal!!

A lot of Inner City pressings were mediocre at best.
Yeah, they kinda suck.
They were some of the last LP's left in the bins when vinyl went tits up.
I liked the OJC's, which hung on for dear life.

Probably felt uncomfortable with the idea of being a duck...
Actually, I hate the Ducks(including Nike) for everything except for track.
Oregon track is back in a big way. I think they won Men/Woman's NCAA's Outdoor.
This a good thing for track. It's like Europe(or how I imagine Europe to be) down there.
Besides the SEC it is USA college track.
Their track is like Yankee stadium...Prefontaine, Oly trials, etc..

Hall High School in Connecticut has a band that can smoke them.
But does Hall have any basketball players?
You sound like the band leader of the Roosevelt Roughriders(Seattle, WA) who
took 2nd to Garfield.
I need to use you for bait next time I go fishing.EE clips
For those who aren't so literal, have a listen.
-
That's funny....'yahn' was my physical reaction after reading first post.
Other than that, I thought Allen was gone.
Does he still have that Conrad Johnson 11B pre-amp for $550?
-
What USA high school has best jazz band and best basketball player.
Garfield High - Seattle, WA (home of Bill Gates). Tony Wroten Jr. is the hoopster(he should be at Hazen High, but that's another story).
Have you guys heard these guys??
-
Curtis Beach(google now)..outta New Mexico, USA
Frankly, could be the baddest track MFer since Mathias, who I believe won Oly Gold in decathlon at age 17.
First off, he's a skinny kid..6 foot/165..no roids is what I'm saying.
I'm at a loss for words to describe how good this guy is. Many veterans of T&F do not really know what to say either.
He competes in 10 events.
His personal records in these events are off the charts.
100M - 10.99
LJ - 23'7.25"
SP - 44-08.00
HJ - 6-09.50
400- 47.96
110H - 14.38
DT - 133-04
PV - 15'6"
JT - 155-09
1500/800 - 4:09.48 / 1:52.72
11th event: 200M - 20.94
There are only a few HS track teams is the whole USA who could beet him.
I actually, I think it's two.
He sweeps many, very many school records in each event.
Most of the best High School teams in the States can only beat him in 2 or 3 events.
This is not some small school freak going against schools of the deaf. He would have placed 3rd/4th in Texas 5A State.
In Texas 5A here's how Beach would do:
100-10.89 Nothing
200-21.52 4th 4 pts
400-47.96 4th 4 pts
800-1:52.72 2nd 8 pts
1600- 4:29.4c Nothing
110 Hurdles- 14.24 Tie 4th 4 pts
LJ- 23' 10 1/4 4th 4 pts
HJ- 6' 9.5 6th 1 pt
SP- 44' 11 Nothing
DT- 133 04 Nothing
PV - 15' 06 Tie 2nd 8 pts
Total 33 pts good for 3rd place
At the California State Meet, here's how Beach would've fared:
100: would not have made finals
200: 1st place -10 points
400: 6th place - 1 point
110H: 8th place- 0 points
800: 4th place - 4 points
1500: would not have made finals
HJ: 3rd place - 6 points
PV: 6th place - 1point
LJ: 5th place - 2 points
SP: would not have made finals/state
DT: would not have made finals/state
JT: not competed in CA
Beach: 24 points
20 points won state.
We are talking Texas 5A(biggest schools) and California(all schools combined) where about
200 kids are getting D1 scholorships for track/field.
He's going to Duke.....one of the worst track schools in the history of NCAA T & F.
There is a new decathlon coach there, who he likes. Wish he would have gone to Oregon.
What vinyl are you spinning right now??
