  1. Thanks for posting those Maren! Lovely lady, great player and singer! I have the Classics cds that I believe include all her recorded work. . . wish there were lots more recordings!
  2. I'll second that! Enjoy your day my friend!
  3. Mailman, you are right, this is great music, all those Savoy Fullers are worth a listen, but I think this one is the best!
  4. Yes, there was a 16 bit Savoy Denon in a jewelcase, there was a 20 bit lp facimile released after that, and then a few years back Savoy/Atlantic released this with 24 bit remastering by Paul Reid III. I haven't bought this; I've been happy with the 20 bit lp facmilie I bought (had the 16 bit before that!)
  5. How is that Jeri Southern? I've been learning to appreciate her more and more as time goes by!
  6. As did an American Idol contestant in audition last week, I kid not! He did an okay job actually. Clueless AI lumped him in with another contestant as a "crooner." Not really. The judges gushed at him and sent him on to Hollywood. . . believe it or not!
  7. Hmmmm. . . Jazz in Paris should not have Vogue material . . . different mother umbrella megacorp!
  8. I really really love Inventions and Dimensions. It's just got that exploratory vibe and is rhythmically interesting and should sound really great on the RVG version (the JRVG sounds really nice!) It's different than a lot of the other Blue Notes and me likey different.
  9. Yes, the Solal and Bechet is KILLER. This is great news!
  10. Hazel Scott. . .nice pic!
  11. Tammi! Sadness too. . .
  12. A rebus definitely won't work for me! You have to know your woman. . . and a rebus definitely would NOT WORK for me!
  13. I do the very expensive flowers bit every year by an award-winning flower shop. . . and I only do that because my wife really LOVES flowers and flower arrangements, she really appreciates it and makes me feel that I DID THE RIGHT THING. Also, no one else at her office gets flowers even vaguely resembling the flowers she gets, and that doesn't hurt my standing with her either! It puts the pinch on my finances every February, but it's really honestly appreciated and I always do it. So guess no answers from me. If your wife really has been enjoying the flowers, you may want to continue with that tradition. .. . If not, lots of options. We often also go to one of our favorite restaurants one evening either before, after or on Valentine's Day, usually the Clay Pit (fabulous Indian food) or Fonda San Miguel (fantastic Mexican food).
  14. My dos pesos: http://www.decware.com/SACD/sacd.htm http://www.decware.com/zpage1.htm http://www.parkeraudio.net/95_signatures.htm I sound like a broken record in audio but that is because I have built a system around Decware audio components that is unlike any other system I've known. I'm so happy with the build, sound and customer service I won't stray. I'm recommending the modified Sony player (you'll have to supply the player I believe these days) and the basic amp, and a pair of speakers built by Parker Audio specifically for the amp. (The one drawback of the amp is that it needs carefuly matching to speakers, and this speaker is a wonderful match. If you want to spend more than 2000 dollars I'd recommend the Decware Integrated amplifer and the Radial speakers. The Radial speakers are AMAZING; the Integrated or the EL34 Monoblocks have the power to drive them to deafening levels.
