Big win for them and thanks to Liverpool the Gunners have a shot at the title.

...and what is to say about tomorrow evening????

....and, by the way, who do you experts think is the coming goalkeeper of manu????

One thing for sure it won't be a Brit.

The two names mentionned are from Lyon Lloris or from Atletico De Gea.

Do think that the Gunners having to run too many rabbits at the same time will end up with not much at the end of season

....it won`t be a Brit, well, think so, too ;-))

in germany some think, manu will have an eye on manuel neuer, and i think that would be really

a very good choice for manu, he is really fantastic....

barcelona 3

arsenal 1

if bendtner did the chance in the 88. minute......

do you think, wenger has chosen the right (mourinho-)tactic?

The thing is that when you play so defensively, it's almost impossible to switch back gears and play offensive football afterwards, the dismissal of Van Persie was rather harsh, thought Arsenal should have put more pressure a bit higher on the pitch , they did it for a short while but they resorted to a more negative tactic but overall the better and more deserving team went through

By the way great win for the Ukrainian side, always thrilled to see those lesser known teams mixing it up with the big boys

Considering how poor their level of play was it pretty amazing that Marseille were one goal short of eliminating MU, they looked like a MLS team. Talk about amazing, considering how horrible their defending was and how many mistakes they made inside their own half that Inter found a way to win it, Bayern players will kick themselves for the rest of the season. Great game though.

The Uefa champions league quarter finals:

  • Real Madrid v Tottenham Hotspur

  • Chelsea v Manchester United

  • Inter Milan v Schalke 04

  • Barcelona v Shakhtar Donetsk

so we will have nice half-finals:

Madrid - Barcelona

Manu - Inter

and so we have madrid-barcelona four times during the next weeks, wowh!!!!!

and a nice final

Manu - Barcelona

i guess, that sir alec ferguson could be the only one with an answer to barca,

but barca will beat manu anyway.....

barca has a historic team, and we have the chance to witness them...

but probably football-god will disturb my prophecy, and xxxxxxxxxxx will win the champions league....

  • 2 weeks later...

Ribery and Evra - would you call them back in the french team?

i would not, in many cases people should get a second chance,

but, of course, not in every case, and as ribery already has had his

second chance, after betraying his family, his wife and his children,

with a 17-year-old girl, he does not need again a chance - why should he?

their behaviour in south-africa was so very very poor....even if i really

do not like domenech....

Ribery and Evra's behaviour during the World Cup was a total disgrace. The may be good players but yhey never should have been allowed back into the national team

They should be in the same boat as Domenech.

to me it is also interesting, to see, that they came back now in the french team, in germany that would really be completely impossible,

we suspended several very good players (Effenberg, Uli Stein (long time ago) and Kevin Kuryani) because of very very "smaller" misbehaviour,

the national team here seems to have a much more "ethic" importance, i wonder really, that just "le grand nation" is so "opportunistic"...

well i think i have to correct one team......but not the final ?!

manu and chelsea both teams seemed to be a bit tired, i cannot understand,

that these british teams are still playing so many competitions....

maybe schalke will have a chance against, probably, manu, if inter will not have a comeback...

the goal of keita was great,

but inter - schalke was really the most outstanding match,

great, that Raul is still with the champions-league...and made such a very important goal...

First of the four game series between the Real and Barça was yesterday, the first 60 minutes were rather cagy with Madrid tightening up on defense but the last 15 minutes were quite exciting with both teams being shorthanded and more space on the pitch, you could say that the Catalans were the moral winners by not allowing their rivals to gain any ground in La Liga they still have a 8 points over their hated rivals.

Next meeting wednesday with hardware to be obtained.

The good guys didn't win but it was a hell of a game wednesday, kudos to Real for pulling it. Barcelona was horrible during the first half while Madrid was playing well. In the seceond the Catalan side got its groove back and were the best team however they kinda run on fumes at the end and then the Madrid side got over and got the big win in the overtime..

By the way for the Yanks reading this thread, the color commentator for Gol TV has to be the most annoying guy working with a mike nowadays, I have flashbacks of Bud Collins doing tennis commentary on NBC.
