GA Russell
In the past few weeks I have twice unwittingly added a toolbar to my firefox. How do I get rid of them? Anybody know?
Neal Pomea
Go to View, Toolbars, then play around with the options listed there.

GA Russell
LOL! I needed to do it again! It seems like I can't download anything without getting an unwanted toolbar!
Claude
If the toolbar came with a software you installed, it's better to uninstall the toolbar completely, using the "Programs" function in the Windows control panel. Even if the toolbar is no longer visible in the browser because you unchecked it, it may perform certain functions in the background that you don't want. Usually, you can prevent the installation of a browser toolbar add-on by selecting "custom installation" during the setup of the software and unchecking the toolbar installation option. Unless it's a software that doesn't ask you if you want the browser toolbar. I would stay away from such a program. JSngry
What kind of a "toolbar" is it? Sometimes a toolbar that behaves like that is an indicator of spyware.
Christiern
Sounds like you need to stop hanging out in tool bars!

Good idea, Jim. I can't remember the last time I checked for spyware, so I went to tucows and downloaded Spybot - Search & Destroy. It found 18 spyware programs and 100 issues. We'll see if the machine runs any faster now. I bet it will!
Tim McG
How do I get rid of that insipid tool bar "Bing"? Same way?
