Thankfully, he was able to move his head enough for it to first hit the side of the helmet, which along with moving his head in the opposite direction...greatly dissipated the force to his jaw....and still ended up with a fracture in two places in his jaw. They're going to make more in profit than the last 6 Champions combined did those years. That's on top of the $70 million Crane was paid to move to the AL. WTF? incentive does Crane have to pay to win? There is a luxury tax ....there should be some sort of minimum on team payroll. This year including bonuses the Astros' payroll is about $7+ million less than the Yankees are paying Mr. April. In fact as a team....they don't even crack the top 10 yearly salaries for players. Other than the possibility of getting hit in the head, he could give a crap about getting hit....would bounce off him without even a wince and would take the base while unwrapping that huge (now illegal) device. In this day an age when the HR is the be-all to end-all because of the Barroid Era....you have to be a mostly non-HR hitter. Rafael Palmeiro is the single one of the Barroids that can be found on the 3000+ list. Barroid with all the he intaked and elbow armor only made it to 2935 hits in 22-years. Just want to say without armor....even with all the "Flaxseed" he could't do what he "miraculously" did. Interestingly, many/most pitched in the the one worthless game in the season....that now decides which league has more home games in the World Series. While I think TJ surgery is becoming more common place - just ask the fans of the Rangers, Nats, or Braves - to say that 1/3 of all MLB pitchers have had that procedure done is a bit of an exaggeration. To the best of my knowledge none of the pitchers on the Phillies current 40 man roster have ever had TJ surgery. Of all of the pitchers that have thrown for the Phillies this season(that's more than 20) only 1 that I know of - Mike Adams - has had it. Tough break for the kid. From July 2013 One-third of current MLB pitchers have had Tommy John surgery. Of the about 360 who started the season, 124 share the all-too-familiar triangular scar. How surprising is this number? It stunned me! In recent talks with baseball officials, none guessed more than the one-in-nine number I had often seen quoted over the last decade (and quoted myself).
