Burton Greene Quartet - S/T (ESP, 1966).

Marion Brown is particularly good on this, and I have always found Greene's work more convincing than some critics apparently did.

Herb Pomeroy and his Stablemates "Live at the Stable, Boston 1955" Fresh Sound cd.

Though this is an expanded release, most of it was originally on Transition Records, "Jazz in a Stable" with this cover. . . .

A very interesting album, two sessions, one with Bennie Green and Sonny Rollins, Morpheus is quite a strange sounding tune, and the more easy listening set with the tenor tandem Al Cohn Zoot Sims.

This is an album that I like more and more as I play it more. A return to forever in the fifth dimension to a penny arcade where a banda nova not yet formed practices for a Carnival show while watching the weather report. Or something like that. Definitely not your grandfather's Jackie & Roy album.

Very different from "A Wilder Alias" as if the two were carpenters building a more traditonal structure for their music, but still . . . I like it a lot. I needed the chill pill.

Peter Kater, "The Healing Series Vol. 3: Ambrosia"

I bought this because it has Jacques Morelenbam on cello. And it's worth it for that. . .beautiful cello from Jacques wonderfully recorded.

From what I recall the DVD was a bit of A disappointment.  On a coincidence though I just finished:

Christian Scott - Yesterday You Said Tomorrow

this album is timeless to me. I can put it on and am completely immersed in it.

This is marvelous Jim Hall Trio, with Carl Perkins and Red Mitchell. Maybe my favorite Jim Hall. And the cover's great too, though I'm sure Hall is inset.

With the odd history of this record, you almost have to ask: which version did you get?
