This one is more interesting than one might think.

Looks like was made as a promotional item by a local HiFi / Sound System company, it remained their only release. Sure sounds very good. Recorded by Tom Jung of DMP, but with the equipment referred to by the German company, with musicians associated with DMP at the time.

Still groovin' to Latin sounds:

91H2mhmlbYL._SS600_.jpg

CD compiles two LPs: Demasiado Caliente (Fantasy 8053) and Latino! (Fantasy 8079)

Tjader had one helluva band at this time.  Mongo and Bobo together!    Plus "Chombo" Silva, José Lonzano, and the rest.

Kimiko Kasai ‘What’s New’ SACD

Do you know her catalog well? I've heard, like 3-4 records, always with Americans in the mix somewhere, and like her pretty well. Don't know this one, though.

No, sorrry, this is the only one I’ve heard. Picked it up back in ‘08 or so….probably from Hiroshi.      Quite nice.

I really like the one she did with Herbie Hancock. The one with Gil Evans was not bad at all as well.

She seems to have had excellent and/ or well-funded management to go along with her not-inconsiderable skills. I wonder how/if her and Helen Merrill might have networked?

Klaus Ignatzek Trio - Take It Easy (Red, 1990)
with Ron McClure and Billy Hart

Klaus Ignatzek played in Vienna also, I saw him at the defunct club "Jazz Spelunke" here in Vienna. He also was famous for his collaborations with Romanian singer Anca Parghel.

Judging from Eric and Seamus's performance which I saw on Smalls' live stream on YouTube, that looks a very promising album, Peter. It's available on Spotify and I'll be giving it a listen. :tup

P.S. Yes, very nice. :tup

I saw a band very like this in a Manchester club a few years ago: Eric on tenor, LeDonne on piano and that Austrian wizard (Gheorghe please note! :D), Bernd Reiter on drums.
