"Legendary recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder is like a 5th member is this session capturing the instruments, the air, the vibe of the studio, the stereo soundstage (unusual in those days) just perfectly.

Upon hearing the Sunday Mornin’ analog tapes used for cutting this release, mastering engineer Kevin Gray gleefully proclaimed, “Rudy’s sound doesn’t get any better than this, it really doesn’t”!

I can't believe the high praise, hearing the 25 years old japanese Blue Note Works TOCJ 4099 edition. You can hear a falling bottle in the studio in "God Bless The Child" after 5:36 minutes.

Did they correct that ?

You can't really "correct" that without removing the music occurring simultaneously to that bottle clinking around the floor and yes, I am hearing that it is still there in this new LP.

All the talk of this made me dig out my "24 Bit by RVG" LP facsimile cd of this.

It really is a good sounding session. And great playing. When Green brings out his bag of tricks on these songs great stuff happens. I really like the sound of his guitar on sessions of this time (P90 pickups, I think). And Kenny Drew is really "on" . . . .
