I like the Nik Bartsch titles I have heard.   Not much use for the label overall at this late date.

Yeah, that's actually why I made it specific to the 21st century. Most of the time when people list their favorite ECM records, there's a lot of stuff from back in the 1970s. Given how much music ECM puts out, I figured there's probably some good stuff that I've missed.

I agree about Stanko, definitely. Also, everything by Anouar Brahem is of a consistently high standard. Louis Sclavis has hit a rich seam too.

Other artists that have released strong albums are Misha Alperin, John Surman, Stefano Battaglia, Enrico Rava, Christian Wallumrod, Markku Ounaskari, Francois Couturier, Tim Berne, Michael Formanek, Giovanni Guidi and I could easily go on.

Any drop off for me has been in the last five years or so

I also really like "Rabo De Nube" by Lloyd, and "Athens Concert" is amazingly good in spots.  His work in general has been miraculous on ECM and then Blue Note, given that I was one of the many who had written him off as a burnout case in the early 70's.

I've been really enjoying a lot of the recent ECM titles. I just wish I had time and money to explore more of what's been released over the past few years, but I've particularly liked these:

Andy Sheppard- Movements in Colour

Marilyn Crispell and David Rothenburg- One Dark Night I Left My Silent House

Ketil Bjornstad- La Notte

Marcin Wasilewski- January

Sinikka Langeland- Starflowers, The half-finished heaven

Markku Ounaskari, Samuli Mikkonen, Per Jørgensen- Kuara

Misha Alperin- Her First Dance

Anouar Brahem- The Astounding Eyes of Rita

Too many, BUT agree about Stanko, no sloppy records AFIK, I would add Charles Lloyd, Paul Motian and Dave Holland in the same league.

Trovesi and Coscia strong records too. Both records of Jarrett and Haden are excellent IMMV.
