7/4 Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 Wow, man. My Dad's been listening to that station since I was a little kid or at least forever. . Quote
Guest Bill Barton Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 That's sad news. In the Seattle area we are lucky enough to still have a commercial classical station, KING-FM. It gets a lot of play when I'm in the car... Quote
jazztrain Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 John Wilson (who wrote on jazz for the NY TImes for years) also had jazz programs on WQXR. The first appears to have ended shortly before I began listening to jazz. The second ran after I had left New York. As a kid, I listened to classical music on WQXR and on WNCN (which died about 15 years ago): http://www.nytimes.com/1993/12/19/nyregion...sical-wncn.html http://www.nypost.com/seven/04282009/gossi..._co__166569.htm Quote
