I knew it!

👍👍

My Armstrong set arrived earlier this week and today I finally had a chance to listen today. Beyond the sound (great) the book (lovely) I just want to say - listening to Louis especially from this era is an amazing experience. When he puts the horn in his mouth the room just lights up. It’s like living in a black and white world that suddenly goes to color. What a gift.

Smaller market teams are almost always screwed over by the myopic media. One more thing to fix when the revolution comes!

I'm glad to see the original cover is back!

Thanks PIM I wrote to British...., many many trhanks

Yes, that jibes with what my friend said it translated to years ago. It would be nice to have the Cherrys on a physical CD (along with the Lacy Trio tracks, which I’ve never heard). But paying through the nose for a comp LP isn’t that enticing these days.

An offer to anyone within reasonable mailing cost distance from here (Germany): I'm clearing out old papers and am about to discard a stack of mailing lists from the renowned "Jazz Is Beck" mail order shop at Munich (Germany). So if there is anyone out there who'd be interested in these lists of new or back-in-stock jazz CD (re)issues with catalog nos., lineups and track listings - for research or whatever other reference or archival reasons - they're yours for the taking: A handful from 1994 and almost all from Jan. 1995 to Sept. 2002 when their mailing lists were discontinued. The only thing I'd ask is reimbursement of the shipping costs (5.20 EUR for a small parcel within Germany, elsewhere at cost). Anyone interested - please be in touch before the end of October. Yes, it's a wild shot but I figured I'd give I'd at least pass out the word this way before dumping them.

Thanks. Aren't you going to comment my BFT?

Indeed. I can't update the list, though, and don't want to bug the mods, so I'll just state it here. Jan, Oct, and Dec are taken. All else is open.

***** There is a mistake at the top. Nitzan Bar plays guitar. Barak Mori plays bass.

Thanks Onxidlib, ia have it too, but i will aprreciare the line up for each tracks if you have it, in order to compare with mine

I was hoping someone would make that not a necessity, but I appreciate you. Thanks, Jim.

totally agreed on all counts. Didn’t sound quite like “Confirmation” to me; they should have done more research. I thought the clip was fine, not earth-shaking but not bad either. Glad it is being issued in CD format as well as LP (I’m not sold on Resonance LPs personally).

It barely merits the label "obituary". I don't know all his credits, maybe the fact that he played jazz professionally in his 20s didn't mean much to his family. 98 is a long run, I should pull out the Hank Uptown recording.

Nostalgia time - drummer Fritz Kasten was a college buddy and member of our wedding. I miss him.
