It is not the Coltrane tune. I actually had the same idea also. It may be "by" Coltrane, but if it is it's not his "Impressions" composition, which is a more uptempo tune.

I've been trying to find out the title/artist for the theme song of the BET jazz show "Impressions". So far no luck. Is anyone here familiar with the tune?. A very nice tenor sax riff but BET does not credit it, they just play it over and over.

Still no luck. A listener on another forum suggested that it sounds like Courtney Pine, which I agree with. The Bet website is impossible, and the show never credited the the tune. The show itself doesn't seem to be airing at this time.

Can someone tell me the title of the theme from th BET "Impressions" tv show? I like the riff but can't see where they ever give a source.
