So, have any of you jazzheads had the time to evaluate this fine album? As a Elvis Costello fan I'd be curious to read your impressions.

If any of you jazz afficianados have heard Elvis Costello's new album, North, yet, I'd be curious to know your impressions. Personally, I like it a lot, it's a real grower. The playing all round is appears understated at first, but its simplicity hides all kinds of nuances. It certainly is causing a huge division amongst his fans. one either gets it, like me, or ahtes it.

Chaney if you like the genre you may like it . Genrally speaking its an OK film - nothing more , I was a bit dissappointed as i normally like Danny Boyle films .
If you saw & enjoyed Dog Sodiers you'll like it (it has less humour though) .
The plot does make you raise an eyebrow in places towards the end .
I dont think all thats much help but i saw it a few months ago.
I agree with this view. It's shot in digital which takes a bit of adjusting. The SARS outbreaks give the film a whole extra flavour, which I obviously did'nt have when I saw it here last autumn. The cast is good, Cillian Murphy shows promise, Chris Eccleston is brilliant as always.

Above is a review of a recent show by the BB Fellowship. One of the highlights for me this year was seeing Brian backing Wolfgang Muthspiel at Whelans here in Dublin last winter. Brian did'nt look too enthralled to be playing in such a tiny venue, and maybe the damp weather was not to his liking. Still, this did'nt stop him playing a blinder and, let's be frank, stealing the show.
