  1. Hi all, Although I hope most of you are very much in love with someone at the moment. I'm sure I'm not the only one that did look/has been looking for comfort in music when a relationship did not turn out the way expected. Please share your favourite "break up" song or songs, that helped you through this heart ache at some point in your life and, when you're comfortable with telling, the story of the love that goes with . The music can be from any genre as long it was the music that sucked you into the gloom or got you back to life or anything in between, whatever is appropriate to your story. Ok, well, I guess it is fair that I'll go and share first. Here's a song that made me cry but also helped me. Here's a personal story: The guy that belongs with this song used to be my best friend. I met him in my teens and we got on from the moment we met. It was strange, I was really young but this guy who was somewhat older than me really seemed to have a mutual soul. We just connected. I trusted him with every thing, he would never think anything was odd. He was really open minded and because I was not really an ordinary girl and felt I didn't fit in with my peers at times, maybe since I had experienced other things in life already they hadn't yet. Not sure, but I did feel different. He was my best friend for years and he tried to educate me musically. Tom Waits came from that, so this music is connected to my friend. Our lives went on and about 1,5 decade later on a late night he confessed to me he had fallen in love with me the moment we met. I didn't know. He hadn't told me since I was so young and he didn't want to lay it on me. He just wanted me to be happy and when he could contribute to that in any way that was enough for him. I guess I was not surprised since I always had felt he loved me and frankly I did love him too, so I told him that. He was really happy, but we never got to be a couple since well, there were two lives and other people involved at that time who would get hurt. So we decided to just stay friends and we still are, only he's not really my best friend anymore. I guess this did influence us after all. Neither of us wanted to be selfish and pursue this love when it would mean we'd have to hurt people. It just wasn't an option. Maybe now I'd just have wanted he wouldn't have told me, so we'd still be best friends. I miss that. Hope you'll share your song with or withhout story. Thanks. Kind regards, page
