sal Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 If anyone is from or lives remotely near Chicago, we are in for some REAL treats these next twelve months! The Symphony Center has announced their jazz lineup for the next year. Ornette Coleman is coming in September. The following months will see Dave Brubek, Charles Lloyd Qunitet, John Scofield "Real Jazz" trio with the Brad Meldhau trio, Hank Jones f/Clark Terry & Joe Lovano, the Lincoln Center Orchestra, and Cassandra Wilson. I think I'm missing a couple as well. But the big one is.....not one....but TWO nights with Herbie Hancock next April! The first Friday will be the Herbie Hancock Quartet with very special guest Wayne Shorter!! And the following Friday, Herbie will perform a trio concert with what may possibly be the best rhythm duo alive today - Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette! Along with a strong lineup for this year's Jazz Fest, Chicago is definitely a good place to be livin'!! B) Quote
