tjobbe Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 (edited) Hi All, just landed in Malaysia and on that flight from Germany I heard some "on Board entertainment"...and they played a tune I immedeately loved It was on the Charlie Byrd Trio 1963 live concert called Blues for night people... Can anyone who knows this tell me if thats the best version of this tune (and if.. which CD release shall I buy now... ) Cheers, Tjobbe N.B. luckily, the other three tunes I liked much are already mine B-) Edited August 20, 2004 by tjobbe Quote
wolff Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 I would imagine the hybrid SACD will be out soon. Fantasy just released 10 titles with more to follow. Quote
P.D. Posted August 21, 2004 Report Posted August 21, 2004 (edited) Blues for Night People...was sorta a suite by Byrd. 20 mins .. three pieces First Show 2.00 AM Four O' Clock Funk The original is on " Midnight Guitar.. Savoy CD SV 0247 but it might be OOP I prefer this to the village gate set, but if you want the "live" version its on an OJC release. Edited August 21, 2004 by P.D. Quote
tjobbe Posted August 23, 2004 Author Report Posted August 23, 2004 thanks P.D... and yes, it seems the Midnight Guitar is OOP so I will go for the Village Gate live performance.... Cheers, Tjobbe Quote
