Craig23 Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Ugh, I somehow got spyware on my computer that I can't seem to get rid of. It sets Owebsearch.com as my homepage. I have tried manually removing it (it seems to be located in a folder called "inetdata" located in the windows directory. It won't allow me to remove it because it says the program is in use. I have tried using spyware detecters and removers (BHO Demon and Ad-Aware SE Personal). Nothing is working. Anybody have any ideas on how to get rid of this...it is driving me and my computer crazy! RDK Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Try downloading spybot search & destroy Quote
RDK Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Also, everyone should be using Spyware Blaster (or something similar) to keep this crap off their computers in the first place. Quote
WD45 Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Restart in Safe Mode [by hitting F8 during boot] and delete the folder. Reboot again and you should be good. Quote
Craig23 Posted August 24, 2004 Author Report Posted August 24, 2004 Thanks, rebooting in safe mode and deleting the folder worked. Off to download Spyware Blaster. Quote
