Bol Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I usually seek others' recommendations rather than make ones myself. But I've been so pleased with some new acquisitions, I thought I should recommend them. They are: Tony Malaby, "Adobe" (Sunnyside) w/ Drew Gress & Paul Motian Bill McHenry Quartet Featuring Paul Motian (Fresh Sound New Talent) w/ Ben Monder & Reid Anderson These are just very pleasing and interesting recordings. Both Malaby and McHenry are young tenor saxophonists (though Malaby records one amazing track on soprano), and they sing. Quote
Big Wheel Posted November 8, 2004 Report Posted November 8, 2004 Do you have Chris Lightcap's "Bigmouth", on FSNT? That one features Malaby and McHenry together and is seriously tight. Quote
Bol Posted November 8, 2004 Author Report Posted November 8, 2004 (edited) No, but that is one of the CDs that are next on my list. I hope the one Beatles song on it is not too distracting. Edited November 8, 2004 by Bol Quote
