Mosaic Coltrane & Miles set

I'm not too keen on the sound of the cd box set so am thinking about buying the lp set. Even though I have the originals, I think they could have been better soundwise. The alternate take of Milestones is better than the original to my ears.

It would be nice to have this stuff all together but I have been disappointed in the past with Mosaic lps.

Anyone have an opinion?

I was contemplating the Davis/Coltrane set myself. Checking the Mosaic site, I didn't see any mention of whether these are from analogue masters-- perhaps I missed it? I was sure these had previously been labeled as such. Or are these LPs from "dreaded" digital sources?
