jazzkrow Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Anybody else out there seen "Lightning in a Bottle"-the Blues tribute concert now in the theatres? What a line-up-BB, Buddy Guy, Solomon Burke, Dr. John, Hubert Sumlin, Mavis Staples, Gatemouth, and many, many others. The cinematography, and concert sound were impeccable. It's a must buy when/if it comes out on DVD. Brought me back to my blues loving days at the Fillmore West in the late 60's. B-) Quote
Christiern Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 A friend of mine who is in the film (Larry Johnson) told me that Scorcese paid everyone equally. He was pleasantly surprised to find himself getting the same amount as B.B. King. I haven't seen the film yet, but it is on my list of things to view. Quote
jazzkrow Posted December 8, 2004 Author Report Posted December 8, 2004 Larry Johnson was a new name to me-his playing and singing were impressive. Has he recorded any lps/cds? Jeff Quote
