chitownjazz
Hi All, This question was posted on the North American Saxophone Alliance discussion forum and received no responses. I wondered if perhaps any of you might know something about this individual. I recently saw the Dizzy Gillespie: A Night in Chicago DVD and was wondering if anyone had any further info (such as other recordings) on the sax player Syyad Abdul Al-Kahbyyr. He mostly played baritone sax. I appreciate any help or direction. Thanks, Glenn Edited March 5, 2005 by chitownjazz

chitownjazz
It took you long enough! Heh heh heh, just kidding of course. On behalf of the original poster on the NASA (that's North American Saxophone Alliance) list, thanks Michael. I figured somebody would come through here, though I didn't expect this much info so fast! I'll pass the information along with appropriate credit to you and this list. Michael Fitzgerald
There's more out there - it's just tricky because of misspellings of the name. But websearches will turn up stuff. Apparently Syyad has done a lot of playing in the NYC subways. Mike
