Guest GregM Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I just got a notification from Tower this shipped to me, but it has been available and hopefully someone here has heard it. I bought it during Tower's memorial day sale and then kicked myself as it was being sold at the HES show in San Francisco. I have Soultrane and Sonny Rollins + 4 on MoFi SACD, and while they are fairly incredible, they don't impress quite as much as the Analogue Productions. Those have a midrange presence that is awesome. But the MoFis are darn good, too, and I can't wait to hear Steamin'--another one I haven't owned since my copy was ripped off 10+ yrs ago. Quote
Guest GregM Posted June 26, 2003 Report Posted June 26, 2003 Well, this arrived yesterday but just as I was about to unwrap it and give it a listen the phone rang and my friend invited me to dinner up near Stanford. D'oh! I'll be able to listen tonight and report back. Quote
Guest GregM Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 This is another winner. . .IMO MoFi's best reissue since they were resurrected (not counting the Patricia Barber discs which I don't have). Granted, that only includes Soultrane, Sonny Rollins Plus 4 and the Isaac Hayes title, which are each fantastic, too. I love the openness and forwardness this has. Grab it. Quote
