Kreilly Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) Last night I saw Reggie Workman, Pheroan akLaff, Sam Rivers, and Roscoe Mtchell perform together as WARM at the tenth Vision Festival. It was a truly extraordinary performance. Roscoe's energy is amazing and even in his eighties, Sam Rivers held his own. I know they recorded it, I hope it sees the light of day. A highlight from earlier in the evening was Marshall Allen's frenetic alto playing in the Henry Grimes quartet. Allen and Rivers are both in their eighties but play with the passion and energy of men half their age. Unfortunately I will not be attending the rest of the festival. I would have loved to see Joseph Jarman and Fred Anderson. Kevin Edited June 15, 2005 by Kreilly Quote
