Soul Stream Posted June 28, 2005 Report Share Posted June 28, 2005 I've got Lee Morgan doing the theme from "Midnight Cowboy" on the Blue Note sampler CD. It's not a jazz vehicle, but Lee blows beautifully and the tune is really hypnotic to my ears. Does anybody know the origins of the cut? Recorded at A & R Studios, NYC, May 22, 1969 Midnight Cowboy (A side) Popi (B side) Released as Blue Note 45RPM Single BN-1951 Lee's version was not featured in the movie, which was released on May 25, 1969.
