grachan moncur 3s "one morning i woke up..."

so moncur woke up one day and decided he wanted to make a more commercial album or something? it just seems so far removed from what else he was up to. no sign of burrell or cyrille or any of the expat cats over in paris, just some random latin players and that ubiqitous french bassist. seems so weird.

i for one like this album and do not see why it is denigrated except by people expecting something totally different. not often you see a trombone quartet.

I like that one too. Moncur sounds so relaxed, for once.

Also, it's the only case of Moncur being more in tune than the piano.
