David Ayers Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 I notice jazzmatazz lists Here to Stay as an uncertain future (RVG?) reissue. About time I should think. I bought this years ago as a CC, as I did others, such as Trompeta Toccata. I've never understood why these particular records have stayed OOP for so long. Trompeta Toccata has been a TOCJ, a JRVG, is soon to be a TOCJ24, but in US and Europe it has been OOP for a decade. Some think it better than Una Mas, and Here to Stay is a good record too, I would have thought Wayne Shorter's presence made it very marketable. A lot of the CCs have come back as single CD reissues. I have put the list below as a reminder of what we've got, and of what we are still missing: First Collector Series Art Blakey Indestructible! Guest akanalog Posted September 6, 2005 Report Posted September 6, 2005 i like trompeta tocatta better. just because as much as i love tony williams, it is a lot more rare to get the chance to hear tootie heath on blue note. so that is special. here to stay is really good too. shorter and philly joe add a lot. would like to see this one back for sure.
