Peter Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Just got this email from Amazon regarding Gerry Mulligan Jeru Hello from Amazon.com. We're writing about your Amazon.com Marketplace order The Sony CD(s) in this order contain XCP digital rights management (DRM) software. Due to security concerns raised about the use of CDs containing this software on PCs, Sony has recalled all CDs with this XCP software and has asked Amazon.com to remove all unsold CDs with this software from our store (note that the issues regarding these discs exist only when they are played on computers, not on conventional, non-computer-based CD or DVD players). For more information about this Sony recall, including information on a program Sony is instituting to allow consumers to exchange any CD with XCP software for the same CD without copy protection, visit Sony's web site at http://cp.sonybmg.com/xcp/. Sony will be releasing new versions of these CDs that do not contain this software. These new versions should be available for sale on our web site soon. To see a summary of your order, click the "Your Account" link at the top of our web site and then click "Go" next to "open and recently shipped orders." Then, just click on the order number referenced above. Thank you for your understanding. We hope to see you again soon at Amazon.com. Sincerely, Amazon.com Customer Service Please note: this e-mail was sent from a notification-only address that cannot accept incoming e-mail. Please do not reply to this message. Quote
Ron S Posted November 28, 2005 Report Posted November 28, 2005 Yourmusic.com did the same thing with this and the other XCP CDs Sony recently released. Quote
