.:.impossible Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 'Tis the season for Old-Fashioneds! As a kid, I looked forward to Egg Nog. Now, I look forward to Old-Fashioneds, reserved for the second half of December as a special holiday libation. They just don't taste right any other time of year. Seems that each Old-Fashioned conn has their own variation of the classic recipe. What's yours? Not a fan of the Old-Fashioned? What's your drink of choice this time of year? Quote

7/4 Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 If it has "sweet & low" in it, doesn't that make it a "new-fangled old-fashioned"? There's enough sugar in the booze already! I'll be sipping vodka if I drink at all. Quote
.:.impossible Posted December 17, 2005 Author Report Posted December 17, 2005 (edited) Trust me... it makes the drink better. Plus, its been around since 1957. Not too much new about Sweet and Low. And I think we're in good company! p.s. Couldn't find any good absinthe. Edited December 17, 2005 by .:.impossible Quote
.:.impossible Posted December 21, 2006 Author Report Posted December 21, 2006 So, the rest of my family swears by Sweet 'n Low. This is my Grandfather's recipe. They all mix the drink just like that. I just can't deal with the taste of Sweet 'n Low, except in sweet tea. I went to sugar this year... big deal. It doesn't dissolve the way Sweet 'n Low dissolves, but I think it makes the drink so much better. Sorry Satch... I'm going back to azucar. Quote
