RDK Posted April 26, 2006 Report Posted April 26, 2006 I may have a boot of this. If it's the one i'm thinking of, it is indeed a terrific performance. The review was unclear, though - is this from a specific show or is it a comp of several performances? Quote
Bright Moments Posted April 27, 2006 Author Report Posted April 27, 2006 I may have a boot of this. If it's the one i'm thinking of, it is indeed a terrific performance. The review was unclear, though - is this from a specific show or is it a comp of several performances? the liner notes say recorded "live" at the Funkhaus on March 3, 1972 in Hamburg, Germany. Quote
White Lightning Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Gave this CD a spin yesterday for the 1st time, and was awe struck: This album is amazing! The Coltrane medley, with the 17 minutes of circular breathing Blue Train is simply priceless. Immediately after the CD ended, I pressed the Play button again. And then again. This is a great CD, folks! Quote
allblues Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 Great stuff and highly recommended to all RRK fans. If I recall though, another half hour of material circulates from this concert: Prelude Back Home Satin Doll My Cherie Amour Fingers in the Wind There Is A Balm In Gilead/Volunteered Slavery/Dem Red Beans and Rice Quote
kh1958 Posted April 27, 2006 Report Posted April 27, 2006 This is a really good one (performance and soundwise). The same band as Bright Moments except for the drummer. Quote
