Soul Stream Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Aside from the fact that I can log onto the internet and check out the Organissimo Board, I'm pretty much a zero when it comes to computers. However, it seems like there must be an easier way to write arrangements, ect. and have it played back to you immediately in some sort of fashion on the computer, then print it out? Keep in mind I have no MIDI equipment, ect... Just a computer. Is there any advice ya'll can give??? Thanks for any help. Quote
Templejazz Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 (edited) Have you checked out Finale, by Coda Music? It's probably the most popular and widely used music notation and arranging software. You can arrange scores of any type and alter dynamic markings, articulations and just about everything you can imagine. I don't have any more information for you about it except to say that I've used it and from personal experience you definitely need to know your way around a keyboard WELL! It can be a major bi-otch to use and hot-keying like a mofo saves a BUNCH of time when writing arrangements. MIDI may be hooked up to make it easier when keying in music but it's not required. Check out their website HERE Also check out Sibelius It's similar to Finale and from what I've heard it's a little easier to use. I never have used it myself though. Hope this helps a bit.
