BERIGAN Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 (edited) First, there seems to be two Past Perfects.... the one in England.. http://www.pastperfect.com/index.html and the one in Germany, that puts out 10 "gold" cds (they don't look quite like other Gold cds) in box sets, with nice, thick booklets. I thought I caught a break a couple years ago getting a Duke Ellington set for $39.95 . Pretty decent sound, and a cheap way to catch up on a large period of an Artist... I never got the Billie Holiday set, nor the Coleman Hawkins one...now they are all over Ebay for under $30, and if you dig around Barnes and Noble, you can find them in the mid $20's!!!! Portrait is usually in the title of the box set. And then I checked deepdiscountcd.com.... $19.48!!!! And they ship for free! http://www.deepdiscountcd.com/search.cfm?a...x=49&search.y=7 (there is a Benny Goodman set, they seem to have just a one cd "Set" for sale there) So, what is the story anyway??? Did the German company go out of business? If not, how the heck can they make money when the sets are selling retail for about $2 per disc????? Edited September 10, 2003 by BERIGAN Quote
RDK Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 I've been getting some of those 5-disc Past Perfect "Hall of Fame" box sets from Zwe-whatever in Germany and they've been very nice... and only $5 each! Quote

How are you paying for them? Are you giving Credit card info over the phone? Or are you living overseas these days? Do they have nice booklets? Enough with the questions already Berigan! Quote
