i need advice about my turntable... please help

so.... I have a vintage SANYO DIRECT DRIVE TP-1020 w/ a SHURE 3X CARTRIDGE. I plays my record collection nicely. I just bought a new receiver and when I hooked it up the sound on the right speaker was non existent. It works w/ cd and everything else channel but i am wondering if i could be the cartridge or the audio cables.. please respond.

First try switching the cables (right-to-left), then maybe any tiny cables on the cartridge.

You might want to read about the problem that I had recently w/ my TT. It turned out to be the wiring inside the arm.

Maybe it's the phono stage of the receiver...switching the cables will let you know...

It worked fine before, right? On your old receiver?
