Some jazz tunes or even albums were inspired by children stories.

For example: Chick Corea's Mad Hatter was inspired by Alice in Wonderland.

Someday My Prince will Come is taken from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

According to the cover, when Chick Corea recorded "Friends", he thought about the Smurfs. Anything else???

"School Days", a favorite vocal number for Dizzy Gillespie, has children's rhymes in its lyrics.

(Having written this, I've recalled that Louis Jordan recorded this one before Dizzy and that a traditional blues lyric about being "on my way to school" pre-dates both.)

The lyrics of Jefferson Airplane's "Ballad of You and Me and Pooneil" are close to A.A. Milne's poem, "Spring Morning". Mr. Milne is the author of the Winnie the Pooh stories.
