KCSM Radio Goes "Out" - Dolphy! Ornette!

Just heard a promo for a new KCSM radio program that promises new and challenging music. Like Eric Dolphy's "Out to Lunch" and Ornette Coleman's harmolodics. I had to laugh. KCSM hasn't ever appealed to my tastes - far too conservative, with heaps of 'chick' singers. But to advertise this now-mainstream music as something wild and unhinged (my adjectives) seems laughable. Ornette's got a Grammy, fergawdsakes.

Thursday at 1000PM.

I just took a look at their first playlist. Not bad... More power to 'em.

They couldn't resist sneaking in a vocalist or two even in that format though

I like Sonny Buxton's show on KCSM which I listen to online on Saturdays from 6-10 p.m. UK time.

I agree with the comment on Buxton; solid mainstream stuff, with intelligent commentary. And Mr. Barton's right, the playlist doesn't look too bad.
