Bluerein Posted November 2, 2008 Report Share Posted November 2, 2008 Hello all, wondering why there's no mention of the last 2 Mighty Quinn issues of the quartets by Ralph Lalama and Carmen Leggio!! They are very strong straight ahead (mainstream) issues of 2 masters of the saxophone. The thing with these two cd's which makes them all the more tasteful is the fact they have a guitarist as the harmony instrument. This gives the procedings a nice extraordinary tough. Both rythm sections have Petrone and Corsello on bass and drums respectively and they swing as hell !! I might say. No surprises here just plain solid damm good swinging of standards and some originals in the mix as well. Nicely recorded in Stamford.
